Marketing and Distribution
The New Zealand Film Commission operates a marketing programme aimed at ensuring that New Zealand films, both features and shorts, earn maximum attention from audiences, distributors and the media, not only in New Zealand but also internationally. The most visible aspect of the Film Commission's marketing activities is its participation at major international film markets.
Visit the New Zealand Film Commission's website for more information about their marketing and distribution strategies.
Distributors
There are a number of distributors, both domestic and international, working in New Zealand. For a full listing, see The Data Book under the category Distributors.

Broadcasting Standards Authority
The Broadcasting Standards Authority is an independent statutory body set up by the Broadcasting Act 1989, to establish and maintain acceptable standards of broadcasting on all New Zealand radio and television. Any questions or complaints about what is shown on television or what is played on the radio should be made initially to the broadcaster concerned, and then to the Broadcasting Standards Authority.
The Advertising Standards Authority
The brief of the Advertising Standards Authority is to maintain advertising standards in New Zealand. There is an Advertising Code of Ethics that sets out the general standards for all advertising. There are also codes for specific categories of advertising, like medical products, liquor, cigarette and financial advertising, where they are considered necessary. The ASA also administers the Advertising Standards Complaints Board, the body responsible for considering complaints about advertisements.
