Minister for Economic Development meets the screen industry at Film NZ Networking Function
3rd June 2009
Film New Zealand hosted a well-attended networking function in May 2009 at which the Minister for Economic Development, Gerry Brownlee made a very positive speech stating his strong interest in the continued success of the screen industry.
He acknowledged that the screen industry makes a real contribution to both the culture of New Zealand, and the New Zealand economy.
His Government recognises and wishes to encourage New Zealand’s precious pool of talent, and wishes to cultivate a regulatory environment that makes it easy for filmmakers to come to New Zealand, and film in our locations, use our facilities, and hire our workers, and engage our talent pool.
