Slow West, the award-winning Western shot in New Zealand’s South Island, is being released in New Zealand cinemas today.

Slow West is a western adventure set in late 19th Century Colorado, centered on a young man’s epic search for the love of his life. Michael Fassbender stars as Silas Selleck, a mysterious and inscrutable stranger acting as the paid protector to sixteen-year-old Jay Cavendish (Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is on a reckless journey through the American Wild West.

Slow West is the feature debut of BAFTA award-winning director, John Maclean and was co-produced by DMC Film, See-Saw Films (Top of the Lake, The King's Speech) and Rachel Gardner Films.

The film won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in February and has enjoyed rave reviews from critics since its international release.
