The much anticipated countdown for the brand new Thunderbirds Are Go TV series is over after the show premiered in the UK, Australia and New Zealand to enthusiastic reviews.

The revival has been re-imagined for modern audiences by Britain's ITV and New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures in association Weta Workshop. There are 26 episodes in total and the series has already been renewed for a second season.

The original series, first screened in 1965, has been a life-long passion of Sir Richard Taylor who campaigned for the new series to be produced in New Zealand.

Thunderbirds was a hugely influential television series in my childhood. Having watched it originally in black and white, it was only years later that I discovered the full and rich world that Gerry and Sylvia Anderson… and their team created” Taylor says.

The show has had an enormous amount of interest worldwide, and has been described by television critics in the UK as ‘wonderfully nostalgic.’
